Diabetes Clinic

Diabetes is a condition which is becoming ever more common, and there is a lot that can be done to reduce the severity of any complications from this disease.

If this is your first visit, Sarah our nurse will arrange for you to have a blood test before the clinic to monitor your kidney function and to estimate how well your diabetes is controlled. You will also need to bring a urine sample with you. If you need a sample container please ask at reception.

She will measure your blood pressure, weight, and eyesight. She will test the urine for glucose and protein and discuss the results of your home blood glucose tests, so remember to bring your results with you. She will look at the results of your blood tests and discuss those with you. She may then advise you on your progress and if necessary she can adjust your medication.

Sarah will provide you with written information about your care which you should bring with you each visit so it can be updated.
