Whether you are travelling in Europe or further a field, backpacking or taking a year out to travel, the Travel Clinic will be able to offer you the necessary advice and vaccinations to meet your needs.
Prior to making an appointment, please complete a Travel Questionnaire, please see below. Please remember that your first appointment should be at least 6-8 weeks prior to travel.Travel appointments are not urgent and we are not able to provide emergency appointments for travel. Once we have your completed questionnaire please telephone the surgery to arrange an appointment.
Please remember to bring with you to your appointment proof of vaccinations already received if you have them. Your initial appointment will last for half an hour, further appointments maybe necessary if you need of course of immunisation.
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 to 8 weeks before you travel. Your second appointment should be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccinations are not provided by the NHS and therefore there are charges for these vaccines; please see below.

If you become unwell after your trip remember to tell us that you have been abroad. Malaria can develop up to a year after you become infected despite taking all possible precautions to protect yourself while abroad.

Travelling in Europe
If you are travelling to Europe the EU has published useful information for travellers on the European website.
When travelling abroad please remember to ensure that you have the correct insurance in place. To apply for a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), click on the following link; Department of Health Website or telephone 0845 606 2030 or collect a form from your local Post Office. The EHIC is issued free of charge and entitles you to reduced-cost, sometimes free, medical treatment while you’re in a European Economic Area (EEA) country or Switzerland. You should have this card as well as travel insurance.
